About the Company: We are working with two leading renewable energy developers that are expanding their grid connection capability due to strong project pipelines across wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Both companies have portfolios at different stages across the NEM and are looking for skilled professionals to manage connection processes, influence project design, and help secure timely access to the grid.
These roles sit in growing, high-performing teams with strong leadership and collaborative work environments. You’ll be part of the development journey from feasibility through to financial close and handover.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the end-to-end grid connection process for wind, solar, and battery storage projects
- Manage external grid consultants and liaise directly with NSPs and AEMO
- Lead technical modelling and Generator Performance Standard (GPS) submissions
- Coordinate connection enquiries, 5.3.4A/B processes, and performance standard negotiations
- Evaluate project risks related to network constraints, grid access, and regulatory change
- Provide strategic input on grid connection design and project optimisation
- Support technical due diligence, tendering and contracting activities
- Liaise with internal teams across development, engineering and delivery to align on technical requirements
- Represent the business in industry forums and policy consultations, as needed
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 7+ years’ experience in renewable energy with a focus on grid connection
- Understanding of Grid connection modelling tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, or PowerFactory, but hands-on experience is not necessary.
- Familiarity with the NEM, National Electricity Rules, and regulatory frameworks
- Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
- Experience engaging with AEMO, NSPs and OEMs
- Capable of translating complex technical data into strategic project advice
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams
